A small bay city between Oakland and Berkeley, once known for gambling and industry, now for Pixar.

Pixar's studio has been here since 2000.
The Emeryville Shellmound, a Native burial site, was destroyed for an amusement park and later a shopping center.
It was called the rottenest city on the Pacific Coast in the 1920s.
