A coastal town beneath Haystack Rock, one of the most photographed places on the Oregon coast.

Haystack Rock is 235 feet tall and a protected seabird colony.
The town is named for a cannon that washed ashore from a wrecked navy schooner in 1846.
Its sandcastle contest has run since 1964.
