Umatilla, Oregon

A Columbia River town at the mouth of the Umatilla, moved in part when McNary Dam raised the water.

McNary Dam was completed in 1954.
The Umatilla Chemical Depot, which stored and later destroyed chemical weapons, was nearby.
The town was a steamboat landing in the 1860s.
