Camas, Washington

Camas is a paper town. The mill on the Columbia opened in 1883 and the town grew around it, name and all.

The name comes from the camas lily, whose bulb was a staple food for Native peoples of the region.
Lacamas Lake sits above the town.
The downtown has kept its early twentieth century storefronts.
