Longview, Washington

Longview was built from nothing in 1923 by a lumber company that wanted a planned city for its workers, laid out around a civic center and a lake.

It is one of the largest privately planned cities ever built in the United States.
The Nutty Narrows Bridge, built in 1963 for squirrels to cross a street, is a registered landmark.
The Port of Longview is a major grain and log terminal.
